Bharti Singh has managed to bring laughter and pleasure all across the world throughout the years. However, few people are aware that the comedienne grew up in abject poverty. During an interview with Maniesh Paul on his podcast, the ‘laughing queen’ discussed instances when they didn’t have food at home. She also said that her family is still unaccustomed to a luxurious lifestyle. Bharti explained that although her brother worked in a business, her sister and mother worked in a factory sewing blankets.

Her mother also looked at other people’s houses. They would even work at their house on occasion, and seeing all the large blankets, Bharti did not want to stay at home. “Ghar Jaane ka Mann Nahi Karta that” (I didn’t want to go home). I would dine at the hostel and remain at college with my pals. I knew I’d have to deal with poverty if I returned. In that faint light, live.” The Dance Deewane 3 presenter said that there were times when they didn’t have any veggies at home.

“We’d prepare black tea and eat it with parathas.” Alternatively, eat roti with salt.” Bharti Singh went on to say that her mother used to sew ‘Mata rani’s dupatta (decorative clothing for idols)’ and that there was always the sound of a sewing machine at home. The same sound bothers her even now when she approaches the dressing area on set.

“I’ve been living in that racket for 21 years. I don’t want to return there. I don’t have great goals, but I constantly pray to God that I’ll keep what I have. We used to eat salt and roti, but today we eat dal, sabzi, and roti. She went on to say that her modest family is still unaccustomed to a luxurious lifestyle.

When the star of The Kapil Sharma Show purchased an Audi Q5, her mother chastised her, stating that the ‘Innova had a bigger dicky and if it rains, this sunroof will ruin the seats.’ She also joked that her mum is still pleased if she receives free dhania when she goes vegetable shopping.
