For the Nineth Episode of Thunderbolts, Mr. Arqam Azhar- Chief Consultant, Arqiology- Training and Consultancy, International Advisor of Positive Thoughts from Russia  was invited by Positive Thoughts to deliver his  experiences on a paramount and vital topic, Selling Dreams” (Emotional Selling Concept) & Ms. Deepa Choudhary has moderated the session. She is a Public Speaker & Change Maker, Honorary Member of Positive Thoughts.

Ms. Deepa Choudhary started the session of Thunderbolts by introducing Dr. Gaurav Sharma, the Founder & CEO of Positive Thoughts and sailed through his journey of finding his purpose in life and building a community of like-minded people filled with motivation and satisfaction.

She invited Mr. Arqam Azhar to enlighten the audience on the advanced understanding of the Selling Dreams” (Emotional Selling Concept).

Ms. Deepa Choudhary asked Mr. Arqam Azhar to tell about himself. He replied that he is determined to make adult learning interesting, engaging and effective. 

He was always a misfit and standout since his childhood. He always wanted to know why things were done in a certain way and why not in a different way. He always wanted to explore the lesser known alternative and rigorously strived to achieve the best in whatever he pursued, to make a difference. He curates effective and engaging learning experiences using engaging and interactive learning delivery methodologies (Online / Offline).

He has trained teams of Fortune 500 companies and some of the largest corporations and industry leaders in Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Singapore and Russia.

His passion for seeing things differently landed him an opportunity to work for a World Class advertising agency LeoBurnett. Here he learned the power of innovative and strategic Marketing Communications and he mastered the art of churning out practical, effective and creative Ideas. He handled brands like P&G, SAMSUNG, NESTLÉ, KFC and many others.

He then ventured out on his own to build his business in a space where Innovation, Education and Creativity intersected to inspire and empower human development.

Emotional selling is a way of influencing sales by driving emotional aspects as the key decision making factors. This is done by evaluating the emotions which could be connected with the client or customer trying to make a purchase decision and triggering that in communication. 

Importance of Emotional Selling: Emotional selling is incredibly effective because when people make brand and purchasing decisions, they rely far more on emotions than they do logic or reason. Infact, people tend to make an emotional decision first and then find logical reasons to support the choice.

How to apply the Emotional Selling Concept

  • Talk about the customer before you talk about the product.
  • Use discovery questions (to understand buyer motivations).
  • Communicate product feelings, emotions, image connected to product/service ownership/ purchase.
