The speaker of Positive Thoughts panelist included Dr. Tania Simmons from USA along-with four eminent personalities from India: Dr. Tamilarasi, Dr. Nalli Ramya, Dietician Dr. Sheenu Sanjeev and Dr. Neeta Mhatre Mishra and the session was hosted and moderated by Dr. Emi Rajalaxmi Alan.

Dr. Emi Rajalaxmi Alan is a Motivator, Self Confidence Coach, Author, Traveler, Model & Entrepreneur and she highlighted on the mental health conditions due to pandemic Covid 19.

She started the session by asking Dr. Tania Simmons, CEO Healing For The Nations, Healthcare Practitioner, Global Entrepreneur, Keynote Speaker, Author & Life Coach to share her vision as a Humanitarian and what work should be done to enable Mental Health and challenges faced and how can we all create a better Society. 

Dr. Tania answered that People globally are in need of care and she stated that we can contribute by providing medical care, empathy and connecting people with family, community, nation and the access to academic, diagnosis, assessment and good quality health care. She also mentioned that Oncology and Neuro Science can help improve mental health and cause a change in a better Global Society by seeing people as people on humanitarian ground and not just see them as diagnosis as we address the psychological needs including basic needs like love, belonging, and fitness.

She highlighted that implementing great strategy in health care with increase in reach to the population by Philanthropic organizations can rescue the people with mental health and provide medical care.

Dr. Emi Alan now invited Dr. Tamil Arasi, Naturopath and Genetic Brain mapping profiling consultant, NLP Practitioner and first Intern Doctor to work in the Covid war to help the PT community understand how our brain helps in control and managing in difficult times or stressful times. She shared that things start with stress. Stress is inability to hold your emotion and this is anxiety. She added that 5.4 trillion cells are there sharing love in every human and this shows that there is immense love. She added that we take every emotion (happiness or sadness) personally and this information is carried inside our brain and our subconscious brain sends back the signals. Combined with our nervous system the question arises “How to Mind our Mind?” Our mind and body is sending emotion not of action but of reaction. If we learn to mind our mind we would be able to think consciously and the stress and anxiety would be eliminated and our 5.4 trillion cells would generate positivity everywhere in the body. She added that ‘Pranayam’ technique helps in exchange of breathe and the amount of oxygen supply in the body would remove the ‘Dis from Ease’ and disease would not occur. This understanding motivated her to become first intern doctor to support Covid victims and take a stand and support the Nation. We all need to spread lovely and positive thoughts to each individual.

Next Dr. Nalli Ramya, Otorhinolarygologist and Head and Neck surgeon (JIPMER), an author, motivational speaker and CEO/Founder- RAMICOS cosmetics stated that fear is the biggest mental challenge while answering how does she sees the precautions taken to be fit in the present situation. She added that stress hormones rise when you get captivated into anxiety and depression. But if the person mentally strengthens himself/herself, they could lead a healthy life and she quoted examples of the same. She reiterated that it is necessary that people wear double mask including one N-95 mask where in 95 means 95% safety along-with face shield which will help you to avoid eye contact. She concluded by stating that it is very important to take precautions as well as take control of mental health as maintaining positivity in this havoc situation would be the motivation helping us out of pandemic and to emerge as warriors.

To add value to the session Dietician Dr. Sheenu Sanjeev, Founder of Healthyfy & Healthyfy Institute. Experienced Owner with a demonstrated history of working in the health wellness and fitness industry, Clinical Diet & Nutrition, Nutritional Counseling, Child Care Nutrition, Holistic Healing and author of the book ‘Yummy from Mummy’ was invited next. She shared eminent tips on ‘Ghar Ka Khana or food from your own kitchen’ and advised to follow diets which include good nutrition to boost immunity and health. Water to be consumed in the morning (either lukewarm or regular) and within two-hour breakfast is must with seasonal fruit. Lunch & dinner must have whole grains and vegetables to get energy and reduce anxiety levels. Adding cereals are good source of omega 3 and curd or yoghurt especially in lunch being probiotic, magnesium & potassium giving oxygen to brain. Other dietary ingredients included green chutney and salmon fish for non-vegetarians, egg with boiled potato. She recommended aerobics, jumping jacks along-with Surya Namaskar for physical health as well as meditation and pranayama exercises for the various age groups viewers of Positive Thoughts in this Covid period.

Next eminent speaker panelist Dr. Neeta Mhatre Mishra, Certified Trainer, International Master NLP, Soft Skill Trainer, Communication Trainer, Educational Consultant, Mentor and Brand Ambassador was invited to share one intervention/therapy that she can suggest that has helped youth of today come out without medicines. She started by saying that we humans should practice ‘LESS’ as we are not less because we have a very powerful tool ‘Mind’ as it allows oneself to navigate, completely act. She elaborated the intervention ‘LESS’ where-in L – Listening, E – Empathy, S – Support and last S – Start. She engrossed audience by stating that one should LISTEN without putting/applying any of your thought/story as this would be solve 20% of problems. Understanding plays a vital role as when one understands, he/she accepts also and this is EMPATHY. SUPPORT is required in social as well as financial front as if he/she is lacking then it may lead to social anxiety, hence it is important to support such person as ‘It is OK to not to be OK’. We need to program our mind so that we can START to support the person by being un-judgmental and unconditional. She stated we humans have become humane, grown up in this pandemic to help each-other or to hold each-other and we have done better as a society, as a community to overcome phobias as Every illness can be turned into wellness. Positivity starts from going-out and reaching out to people, motivators or counsellors who can help you to overcome physical illness, mental illness, social illness or spiritual illness. She shared an incident where a businessman was not able to maintain his mental health and ended up in losing his life. She concluded that Mental Health itself is a pandemic and under such situations it becomes responsibility of everyone close to ensure motivation and support so that this is avoided.
