Bill Gates, the Microsoft founder, made a US$74 billion bombshell statement on Friday with his now-extracted Melinda Gates wife about the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Reports show that following their stunning divorce in May 2021, Melinda and her ex-partner have now stated that they will be leaving the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in two years.
It should be noted that the rich pair created the charity organization in 2000, most especially for developing nations, to assist people to live a safe and productive life. Since its creation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has invested $55 billion to the cause. However, since Gates announced his divorce in May this year, Foundation leadership seems doubtful.
With this in mind, the Foundation has officially affirmed that Bill and Melinda continue to co-chair the Foundation for two years. Melinda then goes away if she cannot work with Bill any longer. Gates will give ‘personal resources’ for charity, independent of the Foundation, in a situation in which Melinda renounces.
The Foundation added in its statement, “Gates and French Gates commit themselves completely to working together constructively to pursue their program and policy objectives. However, they also decided to take an extra step towards ensuring the longevity of the activities of the Foundation: if they choose after two years to remain co-chairs, France Gates resigns her role as co-chair and trustee.”
Furthermore, new trust officers will develop their viewpoints and assure sustainability and stability by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill and Melinda, except investor leader Warren Buffett who announced his plans to retire in June, have been the sole trustees of the organization. Bill Gates and Melinda Gates left everyone shocking when they went to social networks a few days ago to announce their divorce after 27 years of marriage.
