Smile Expert Dr. Diana Hagan Joins Exclusive Haute Beauty Network

 Dr. Diana Hagan was born in New York City and grew up in suburban New Jersey. She attended college at Florida State University receiving degrees in Biology and Chemistry. She then completed her DMD degree at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. From there, Dr. Hagan continued her education completed a general practice residency program at Staten Island University Hospital. Since then, Dr. Hagan has practiced all aspects of dentistry including pediatric dentistry, General Dentistry, Cosmetic dentistry, and Implants. Dr. Hagan holds OR privileges at St. Barnabas medical center where she does full mouth rehabilitation cases for her patients under general anesthesia. When she is not in the office, Dr. Hagan loves spending time with her two daughters Grace and Olivia, and husband Chris. She is also a certified yoga instructor and enjoys running, meditation and has finished 2 half Ironman competitions.

Judge Diana Hagen was appointed to the Utah Court of Appeals in June 2017 by Governor Gary R. Herbert. Prior to her appointment, Judge Hagen was the First Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Utah.

In 1998, she received her law degree Order of the Coif from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College Of Law, where she was a member of the National Moot Court Team and the Utah Law review editorial board. Following law school, she served as a law clerk for United States District Court Judge Tena Campbell and then began her practice at the law firm now known as Parr, Brown, Gee & Loveless. In 2001, she joined the United States Attorney’s Office, serving as the District of Utah’s Appellate Chief for nearly a decade before her promotion to First Assistant. During her seventeen years as a federal prosecutor, she handled hundreds of appeals as well as high-profile trials, including the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping case and the murder of Millard County Sheriff’s Deputy Josie Greathouse Fox.

Judge Hagen has served as president of Women Lawyers of Utah, the David K. Watkiss-Sutherland II Inn of Court, the Salt Lake County Bar Association, and the Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She also spent many years as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she taught appellate practice and coached intercollegiate moot court teams.

She has been recognized with a Utah Philanthropy Day Heart & Hands Award for her volunteer work with Girl Scouts of Utah, was named the S.J. Quinney College of Law’s 2015 Alumna of the Year, and received the FBA Utah Chapter’s Distinguished Service Award in 2017.

Judge Hagen currently serves as chair of the Judicial Branch Education Committee and the OPC Oversight Committee and as a member of the Utah Sentencing Commission and the Utah Commission on Civic and Character Education.
