It’s almost six months now that various countries are battling with COVID. The virus that commenced its spread from China has continuously been on a toll, spreading to more than half of the world’s countries. Every country is taking its precaution against Corona by restraining themselves to the four walls of the house, maintaining social distancing rules. However, the Corona still tends to spread like wildfire. On the one hand, where we are taking every possible precaution, on the other hand, we are continually searching for its vaccine. Finding an antidote for the virus is one of the most important ways to stop its spread.

Many countries are trying to come up with vaccines. World Health Organization has listed a few top contenders trying and testing their vaccines on several affected people. Moderna (NIAD) is a top contender in COVID vaccines that has ‘mRNA-127’. Moderna is an American biotechnological company that has begun with its phase II testing after receiving approval from US-FDA. In the second position, we find CanSino biological Inc, which has ‘Ad5-nCoV’. It was the first-ever candidate against COVID who began conducting the trials.

The University of Oxford has also come up with a vaccine named ‘ChAdOx1 nCoV-19’ to fight against Corona. This vaccine has shown promising results, mainly focusing on the prevention of the damage to the lungs. Sinovac biotech, another company based in Beijing, also came up with its antidote for the virus. PiCOVacc tested in rhesus macaques, which helped protect animals from Corona by triggering an immune response. Wuhan, from where the virus had commenced, hasn’t been back to search for the vaccine. Wuhan Institute of biological products developed an antidote under China national pharmaceutical group, and the Wuhan Institute of virology has also entered phase two in testing the vaccine.

Sinophram, a Chinese owned pharmaceutical company has also won clinical trial approval from the national medical products administration. A company named Quickgun has also tried to find cure for Corona. has been used as a healing agent for several ailments, across continents. Its usage has been documented ever since the Roman and Greek periods. Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, believed silver had properties that healed wounds. QuickGun LifeScience claims a double attack strategy after having carried literature research on past studies of the virus under lab settings. They tried to understand the best formulation for immediate application against the novel coronavirus. They selected two active ingredients that target the viral membrane–silver is known to bind the glycoprotein knobs in HIV and other viruses. The treatment uses a green-synthesized silver nanoparticle with a payload containing the plant-derived alkaloid, CEP. The surface of the silver nanoparticles is coated with the biomolecules of plant chemicals, forming a protective capping with additional antiviral properties.

As we can see, there are several countries trying their best to battle against the disease, scientists say by September to October 2020 there are chances that the virus will be completely eradicated.
