MVA Govt United, Strong: Ajit Pawar Plays Down Nana Patole’s Remarks

Ajit Pawar state government to decide whether the DP would be prepared with the civic society or the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

Ajit Pawar: When asked if Patole’s recent remarks indicated a lack of unity within the ruling party, Pawar said such announcements are made in closed-door meetings to promote party worker morale.

Despite certain remarks made by state Congress president Nana Patole, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated on Friday that the MVA government in the state was strong and working together, despite some statements made by the latter’s colleagues Balasaheb Thorat and Ashok Chavan.

“Even though such remarks were made, other Congress officials, such as Balasaheb Thorat and Ashok Chavan, have stated that the (MVA) coalition is solid and that everyone is working together. Later, Patole expressed similar thoughts “He went on to say that under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, the whole Congress party was functioning as one. Pawar denied allegations in the media that he addressed the matter with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and accusations that the Zoting Commission report had implicated BJP-turned-NCP politician Eknath Khadse in a property transaction.

He also stated that the state administration had not yet received the Zoting Commission report. When asked about the BJP-run Pune Municipal Corporation’s decision to draught a development plan for 23 villages recently merged into it, Pawar said the PMC had the authority to do so.

Still, it was up to the state government to decide whether the DP would be prepared with the civic society or the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

The state government lately issued a notice designating PMRDA as the village’s “planning authority.”
