Review Of Without Remorse

It’s a good thing the film is a showcase for Michael B Jordan because he gets many screen time. His character isn’t incredibly well-written, but he manages to make it more compelling than it deserves to be.

Rate – 3 stars

Duration – 1hr 49 min

Stars – Michael B Jordan, Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Guy Pearce

Director: Stefano Sollima

Points –

  1. Isn’t necessarily a great action film
  2. It’s a lovely throwback to a period when a solid shoot-em-up was enough of a treat in and of itself.
  3. On a number of levels, it’s an all-around failure from a writer, director, and star who refuses to ignite the fuse for an explosive and thrilling offering.

Review –

This is a picture that gives you a lot of bang for your buck and establishment stabs in the back – a must for this type of plot. One may reasonably expect a film titled Without Remorse and purporting to be based on Tom Clancy’s eponymous book to reflect the said book’s plot somewhat. However, this is not the case. This scribe admits to being unfamiliar with the source material, but the choice is still perplexing because whatever the book’s quality, it could not have been this generic. The action is thrilling, and Michael B. Jordan is as magnetic as ever, but (as is always the case) Without Remorse plods dourly through a meaningless plot. Michael B. Jordan and Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse actors discuss the most difficult moments to film and how they supported one another throughout the rigorous production. In Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, the explosive origin tale of action hero John Clark, one of the popular characters in author Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan world, an elite Navy SEAL uncovers an international conspiracy while pursuing revenge for the murder of his pregnant wife.
